SATURDAY – 8:30 to 9:30 AM ( Designed for Lay Leaders)

– Abe Zuniga, lead pastor, Vine Church, San Jose, CA

S2 - Developing a Plan For Your Long-term Health and Growth (Pastors) (2:30 & 4 PM)

At any given time, one third of all pastors are experiencing burnout or depression. Only one out of four will finish their career well, with vitality. How can we as pastors be among those who finish well? How can we remain healthy, vibrant, and minister with joy? In this seminar we will:

  • Help you identify and understand the areas where pastors tend to be most vulnerable.

  • Explore the key spiritual practices, relationships, and experiences you need to stay healthy and vibrant as a pastor or ministry leader.

  • Give you the tools you need to develop or refine a plan for your spiritual formation.

 – Tim Morey, lead pastor of Life Covenant Church, and serving the PSWC in the area of pastoral health, vitality, and calling.

S3 - The Post-Church Church (2:30 & 4 PM)

In this season of wildfire years for our culture and the church, we pray that the church may not die but rather repent and live again. This session will bring keen analysis of trends and our cultural moment that points toward a much-needed paradigm shift—a call for the church to be essential in its theology, humble in its practice of power, relational in its focus, and trusting of a supernatural God who is able to abundantly bring forth a postfire superbloom.

– Peter Sung, executive coach at Secure Base, doctorate in performance and organizational psychology, ordained ECC pastor

S4- Mission Drift? (2:30 & 4 PM)

A simple term with devastating implications.  Real people are at stake.  It’s easy enough to understand, but difficult to recognize.  A two-worded question that when taken seriously, could significantly shape the impact of your local church for the Kingdom of God.  Paul the Apostle experienced it, and so do all of us who lead in these challenging times.  Together, we will identify not only what mission drift is, but learn how to recognize it quickly and cut through these powerful prevailing winds.

– Craig Sweeney, lead pastor of Heights Church, Citrus Heights, CA and missional coach

S5 - Strength Training for Churches (4 PM Friday & 8:30 am Saturday)

When was the last time your church had a “physical”?  Healthy churches, just like healthy people, need to have regular checkups. Come experience the PHCheck, the ECC Church Health Survey available to you and your congregations. In addition, learn more about resources that are available to help make your church grow stronger. This workshop will be interactive, informative, and even fun! – Mary Hendrickson, ECC Director of Missional Vitality

S6 - Ten Ways a Church Can Help their Pastor Stay Healthy (Lay Leaders)(8:30 am Saturday)

Pastor burnout is real. In 2023, 42% of pastors told Barna that they were seriously considering quitting full time ministry. What can we as lay leaders do to help our pastors stay spiritually vital, healthy, and joyful for the long haul? In this seminar we will detail ten practices churches can undertake to minister to the ones who minister to them.

– Tim Morey, pastor of Life Covenant Church, serving the PSWC in the area of pastoral health, vitality, and calling.
